I wanna know how old everyone was when they started playing half life,of any kind.

I bet you i was the youngest person on here to start playing half life

I started playing Half-Life after I left Dial-up about three years ago...

I was 9. My brother got the original Half-Life upon its release in 1999. I've been in love with the game series since.

my story is my dad got the game(the platinum collection with opposing force and blue shift and tf2 and counter strike) from a friend in 2005,and in 2006(i cant believe he still wasnt done with the game!)Let me play around while he was eating supper.I was playing around and my dad came in and told me i was a natural at shooting games!

so eventually when he FINALLY got done with the game he let me play and i finished it in around a month or so. :dance:

Not to hijack   %^, but i recall my first multiplayer game - 1200 baud modem playing on a BBS tradewars.  I played on my dad's computer at work - boy was i hooked on opponents even though that's not a first person shooter.

Half Life - missed the first one and got hooked when the 2nd one came out - don't remember how long ago!  I really only play on this server as I'm annoyed by the no rules and foul language of other servers.  That said, this is the only game i still play.  I'd guess my late 30's then LONG past OP 6!   :sad2:...

Only game I'll likely try in the future is Borderllands 2 - love the first one in regards to solo play - very entertaining!

I was 25 when Castle Wolfenstein came out.  My roomate would let me play on his PC while he was out at class.  I purchased my first PC for $1800 (486 DX2-66 with a 14' monitor.  I had to buy the soundcard separately (Soundblaster - 16).  Then Doom came out and the addiction started.

Around 4-5 years old.  Yup.  And I was playing Asheron's call when I was 8... :)

You know you have caught someone off-guard
 when they shoot wildly around them, mostly
at the walls and the floor, and their flashlight
flicks on and off.  Bonus if they also spray their tag
and run away shooting at the ceiling.

I started playing the original Half Life somewhere in between the med and indian oceans... stuck on ship waiting to be deployed... I would have been 21 roughly...
